Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent, not-for-profit, industry funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees and career seekers in the building and construction industry. CSQ provides funding to reduce the financial obstacle to training, making upskilling and affordable option for many more individuals in the industry.
CSQ provides funding to some RTOs on an annual basis to provide training to workers in the building and construction industries. The CSQ funding also provides assistance to unemployed eligible workers that have had experience in the building and construction industries who are looking for additional qualifications to assist with employability in the industry.
AIT are proud recipients of CSQ funding in 2021-22!
The Short Courses program is now 2 programs – Civil Specific and Building Specific. AIT has CSQ funding for both programs commencing 1 October 2021. Eligible apprentices can access funded training, with no out of pocket expenses, through the Apprentice Advance Loading.
Both programs have also now been extended to eligible unemployed workers and also employees of Indigenous Councils that are Principal Contractors.
In 21-22, AIT also has funding to assist eligible workers and eligible unemployed workers that already have skills and experience in the industry to obtain a Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations through Skills Assessment and Gap Training (SAGT) funding. If you have skills and experience in the industry and would like to find out if you qualify to apply for the funding for the qualification, please contact our Office.
