This course is a 1 day course that is ideal for workers and supervisors in the civil construction industry that are involved in traffic management and are required to place signage at roadworks.

The course covers:

• Determining worksite requirements and scope of traffic management plan and traffic guidance scheme
• WHS requirements
• Selecting the right PPE, barriers, signage and equipment
• Installation of correct signage according to the TGS
• Hazard identification, risk management and implementing hazard controls
• Correctly positioning signs, devices, displays
• Monitoring traffic flow and hazard controls
• Completing documentation including SWMS and reports
• Clearing and maintaining site and equipment

The Traffic Management Implementation course consists of two parts: a theory component and practical component.

• The theory component is delivered in a classroom environment using TMR approved training resources. There is a written assessment which includes completing relevant TGS, SWMS and workbook.
• The practical component consists of a participant completing a minimum of three on-the-job set ups. The set ups are recorded in a Supervisor Report provided to participants after the classroom training. AIT does not arrange the set-ups for participants. It is up to the participant to contact a traffic management provider to arrange these set-ups. The report must be returned to the RTO within 3 months of the training together with the following documents:
• TGS for the set up sites listed in the Supervisor Report
• SWMS/Timesheets or other document that proves the participant signed on to the set ups listed in the Supervisor Report

On successful completion of all components of the course, participants are issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS302E – Implement Traffic Management Plans and RIIRIS301E – Apply risk management processes and an accreditation card.

Accreditation is issued for 3 years.

All participants must bring their Construction Induction White Card or Blue Card and photo ID to the course.

• The participant also needs to submit TGS for the jobs they did the live set-ups on and preferably a SWMS and timesheets as evidence they were on that site with the 3rd party report.

TMI Renewal courses

Renewal courses are available where participants accreditation has not yet expired. The participants will need to prove current and sufficient evidence of experience over the last 3 years before accreditation can be renewed.

Pre-requisites:

• Construction induction white card (or blue card)
• Photo ID
  

To be eligible to renew the TMR issued accreditation, participants must complete classroom training and assessments and supply the following documents before or at classroom training:

• The Currency of Industry Practice (COIP) with the set-ups and associated documentation recorded. The COIP, SWMS, timesheets, JSAs must be presented to the trainer before or at commencement of training.
• Working in Proximity to Traffic – part 1 (through TMR)
• Working in Proximity to Traffic – part 2 (through TMR)
• White (or blue) construction induction white card
• Other identification (for example, drivers licence)

The COIP document is emailed to participants with enrolment forms prior to course commencement.

On successful completion of the renewal program, participants are issued:



• Certificate of Currency for the TMR Traffic Management Accreditation
• Statement of Attainment for RIIRIS301E – Apply risk management processes
• TMR TMI accreditation card valid for 3 years.
