Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

A person performing this work is required to hold a boom-type elevating work platform high risk work (HRW) licence.

The course covers:

• WH&S requirements
• Hazard identification and risk management
• Identification of EWP
• Pre-start and operational checks
• PPE
• Operating and mobiling an EWP safely including using outriggers/stabilisers
• Communications
• Emergency procedures
• Shut down EWP

This course is a 3 day course consisting of theory training, practical training and assessments. Participants that successfully complete the course will be issued a Statement of Attainment and a Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS). They have 60 days to apply to the state WHS Regulator for issue of the licence.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age to undertake this course.
