This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to remove more than 10m² of non-friable asbestos-containing material (ACM).

The training covers:

• Identifying ACM
• Regulatory requirements for the removal of non-friable asbestos, including notification of the works
• Identifying and controlling hazards
• Tools and equipment used
• Site isolation and decontamination requirements
• Removal methods
• Containment requirements
• Disposal methods
• Clearance inspection requirements

Successful completion of this training enables the participant to work under a licenced asbestos removalist. To apply for a licence, contact the WHS regulator in your state.

PRE-REQUISITES:

• Learners must hold CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card) competency to be able to do this course. Participants must be able to supply a copy of a Statement of Attainment for CPCCWHS1001 or USI transcript with this course code. We cannot accept the white card as the evidence of completing the pre-requisite unit.
